AMMON TOKYO is pleased to announce an exhibition by DAIGO from 21th July 2023. The exhibition will present works under different themes for the first and second halves. In the first half of the exhibition, we will feature sculptures with skull and human motifs, for which he spent many years painstakingly creating prototypes, while in the second half of the exhibition, we will focus on his rare and highly valuable collection. We hope you will enjoy the works created with his unique and pure creative philosophy, which starts with "attractiveness", as well as his collection of objects that have strongly impressed him. We look forward to welcoming you to the venue.
I simply love 'form'. I am attracted to 'form' beyond the boundaries of art, art and figurative objects. I am drawn to the unimaginable lines, the undulation of curved surfaces, and the well-balanced distortion of the form. The shapes that resonate with the viewer's subconscious and instincts are the creatures of the natural world, and the natural world has a design strength that transcends human knowledge. How much can I approach it, how many hints can I take from it, and how much can I borrow from it to express my own aesthetics in my sculptures? I think it is art to explain the meaning of your work in words and get sympathy from the viewer, but unfortunately I cannot see this as a good thing. I am moved only by a good 'form' that makes my brain leak pleasant substances just by looking at it, without the need for verbal explanations. I would like to create a 'form' that melts the hearts of those who see it, just like 'devil', the meaning behind the word ‘AMMON’.
