このたびAMMON TOKYO と和⽥画廊は、2023 年3 ⽉24 ⽇(⾦)よりきゃらあいによる個展『些細で未熟な⽇々』を開催いたします。新たな試みとしてWADA GAROU TOKYO Lab.の2階を制作レジデンスとして提供し、作家が滞在期間に制作した作品を中⼼に同Lab.3階と神保町AMMON TOKYOの２会場で展⽰をいたします。
AMMON TOKYO and WADA GAROU TOKYO Lab. are pleased to announce a solo exhibition by Kyaraai, “My Trivial and Immature Days” starting Friday, March 24, 2023. As a new attempt, the second floor of the WADA GAROU TOKYO Lab. will be offered as a studio space for the artist to create works during her exhibition period, which will be exhibited on the third floor of the Lab. and at AMMON TOKYO in Jimbocho.
ARTIST STATEMENT
ことしの1月1日、自然豊かな公園に出掛けました。その途中で、家にスマホを忘れていることに気付きました。
しまった、とおもう反面、よかった、とも思います。そういう日は、通知も何も気にしなくて良い。少しラッキーです。
しかし、手元にないと分かっていても、公園の良い景色の写真が撮りたくなり、ポケットの中を探してしまいます。
スマホで記録しなければ、その感動を完成させられないような気がするのでしょうか。
本個展では、そんな出来事を基点とし、WADA GAROU TOKYO Lab.でのレジデンス期間の中で生まれていく作品を展示いたします。皆様のご来廊を心よりお待ち申し上げております。
On January 1st of this year, I went out to a park full of nature. On the way there, I realized that I had left my phone at home.
I thought “Oh dear”, but on the other hand, I was glad. On days like that, I don't have to worry about notifications or anything. I am a little lucky.
But even when I know I don't have it with me, I still want to take a picture of a nice view of the park and look for it in my pocket.
Do I feel like I have to record it on my phone to complete the impression?
This solo exhibition will be based on such an occurrence and will show works that were created during the residency period at WADA GAROU TOKYO Lab. We sincerely look forward to your visit.

大阪府出身。「ゆらぎの中にいる自覚」が制作の主なテーマ。SNSで多様な価値観に触れられる時代、さまざまなものを吸収して、何が正しいのか、自分の意見や属性すらも分からなくなる浮遊感が自身の中に根強くあり、作品制作はそれを受け止める器にもなる。幼い頃に親しんだ少女漫画のような大きな瞳や、ファンシー雑貨のような色彩など、独自のキャッチーさで鑑賞者を引き込み、描かれた人物と対話ができるような作品づくりを続けている。
Kyaraai (b.1996 Osaka, Japan)
The main theme of her work is 'self-perception in fluctuation'. In an age when we are exposed to diverse values through social media, has absorbed so many things that has lost track of what is right and what is wrong, even her own opinions and attributes, and feels a strong sense of uncertainty within herself, which she uses her art as a vessel to accept. Creates works that draw the viewer in with their original catchness, such as the large eyes like those of girls' manga that was familiar with as a child and the colors like those of fancy goods, and continues to create works that allow the viewer to communicate with the characters depicted in the works.
